ABOUT THE ORLANDO EAGLES
Orlando Aerie #3496 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles was instituted on April 29, 1973 as the three thousand, four hundred and ninety-sixth (3496) Aerie to be chartered by the national organization. The Ladies Auxiliary was instituted a year later on March 30, 1974.
In nature, an "aerie" is the lofty nest of any bird of prey, such as an eagle or a hawk. Therefore in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the word Aerie serves both as the name of its local units and the building in which we regularly meet and host events.
Since our beginning we have worked towards bettering our community through direct involvement and/or fundraising for many major charities such as Cancer, Heart, Diabetes, Kidney, Children, Elderly, Alzheimer's, Spinal Injury, Parkinson's disease and Drug Abuse. We are promoting our Eagle principles in the Orlando area by helping other people in need and having a good time doing it.
We are a very friendly place to visit and encourage anyone interested to stop by and ring the bell. Someone will assist you and take you on a tour. If you want to get involved helping other people and enjoy fun, dinner and dancing, then we are the place for you.
There are thousands of organizations, each with a specific purpose or goal. There are so many reasons why one should consider becoming part of an organization he or she believes in.
The Orlando Aerie conducts fundraisers for eleven (11) major charity functions every year and several state and local Aerie charities. All funds raised are sent to our parent organization and returned to us in the form of grants for presentation, by us, to selected organizations to be used only for research, education or equipment to help fight major issues within our community, state and nation.
We pride ourselves on the fact that every dollar we raise goes back to the community with nothing taken out for administrative expenses and that our recipients must agree to not use our funds for administrative expenses. Our organization is a chance for you to get involved in raising money for charity and have fun while doing it.
